WHO commends vaccination program

COLOMBO (News 1st): The World Health Organization has commended the current vaccination program of the country during a meeting between the newly-appointed Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella and the Resident Representative of the WHO to Sri Lanka, Dr Alaka Singh.

A friendly meeting was held between Dr. Singh and the Minister of Health, at which the WHO representative commended the vaccination program of the country and stated that RAT test kits can be given to the country upon request via the WHO.

Minister Rambukwella said that the Government is taking as many steps as possible to curb the disease and added that therefore is taking many steps, including treating infectees at home.

The WHO representative also congratulated the success the Government has achieved in curbing the virus and emphasized upon the importance of maintaining close relations between the WHO and the Government.
