SL leading in COVID deaths, rulers responsible - Patali

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka is leading the world in terms of COVID-19 fatalities, said Opposition MP Patali Champika Ranawaka on Friday (20).

'The Malaysian Prime Minister was forced to step down because the people were disappointed as Malaysia was leading second in the same category,' he added.

Therefore, the President, Prime Minister, and the Government must be accountable for the deaths due to negligence, he stressed.

The opposition MP said in certain areas public servants have been threatened with pay cuts if they decided to go into a lockdown.
