Cabinet green light to import additional 360,000 liters of Oxygen for Covid patients

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to import 360,000 liters of liquid medicinal Oxygen in addition to the monthly general import of 120,000 liters of liquid medicinal Oxygen.

According to the Department of Government Information, this measure was taken so that sufficient stocks of Oxygen can be stored within the country as the number of patients depending on Oxygen had increased due to the spread of the new Covid – 19 variant at present.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to monthly import and store 120,000 liters of liquid Oxygen to ensure an undisturbed supply of liquid medicinal Oxygen for treating the critical Covid – 19 positive patients.
