3,609 COVID cases on Tuesday (17) & 171 COVID deaths for Monday (16)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka recorded a total of 3,609 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (17), reported the Department of Government Information.

3,555 COVID-19 cases were reported from the Post-Avurudu Outbreak while the remaining 54 cases were those who returned from overseas and tested positive for COVID-19.

Accordingly, a total of 45,080 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.

According to the Department of Government Information Sri Lanka has confirmed 365,683 COVID infections of which 314,340 have recovered.

On Tuesday (17), the Director-General of Health Services confirmed 171 fatalities for Monday (16).

Sri Lanka's COVID-19 death toll increased to 6,434.
