COLOMBO (News 1st); A protest against a delayed vaccination drive using mannequins took place in Puttlam on Monday (09).
The locals who organized this protest claimed that the Puttlam District was being neglected in the country’s vaccination drive.
‘The vaccination rate at other districts is around 75%. However, in Puttlam, they are yet to complete vaccinating all above the age of 60,’ said Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha member Nandana Munasinghe.
However, the Deputy Director of Health Services for the Puttlam District Dr. Dinusha Fernando speaking to News 1st around 300,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to the Puttlam District for its vaccination drive.
