COLOMBO (News 1st); Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) Administrative Secretary Chameera Koswatte and party activist Koshila Hansamali have been arrested.

Police said they were arrested on charges of damaging government property and injuring a police officer during a protest opposite parliament on Tuesday (04).

The two suspects will be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

The Chief Inspector of the Maharagama Police was injured in a scuffle during a protest near Parliament on Tuesday (04).

Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said the Chief Inspector suffered serious injuries to two of his fingers.
