COLOMBO (News 1st): Mothers who are infected with COVID-19 still have the ability to breastfeed via safe methods, Dr. Chitramali de Silva, Director of Sri Lanka Family Health Bureau says.

She mentioned this in commemoration of the National Breastfeeding week, which is due to begin tomorrow (01).

The theme for this National Breastfeeding Week is ‘Protecting breastfeeding is the responsibility of all of us’.

Dr. Chitramali de Silva added that mothers who have obtained vaccines against COVID-19 can breastfeed safely as well.
