Over 700,000 AstraZeneca jabs to reach SL on Saturday (30)

COLOMBO (News 1st): A consignment of over 700,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses are set to reach the island on Saturday (Jul. 31), the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said. "Once this consignment of AstraZeneca vaccines is brought to the country, those who are yet to receive the second dose of the AstraZeneca jab in the Colombo district and the Western province will be administered the second dose from Sunday (Aug. 01)," Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) told News 1st on Friday (Jul. 30). According to the Army Commander, the consignment will also be used to administer the 1st dose of the COVID-19 jab to the people in the Kegalle district.
