COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Customs seized 3.9 kilograms of Kush Cannabis concealed inside a cushion parcel sent to Sri Lanka from overseas.
The street value of the contraband is approximately Rs. 40 Million, said Sri Lanka Customs.
The Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs and Customs Valuation Officers attached to a courier service in Seeduwa had detained 05 suspicious parcels under the Customs Risk Management Process.
Upon inspection, it was revealed the parcels were sent from the Netherlands and United States of America to fake addresses in Piliyandala, Ingiriya, Minuwangoda, Matara, and Polgasowita.
In addition, Sri Lanka Customs also detected a large number of marijuana seeds in multiple envelopes.
