Teacher Trade Unions to refrain from Online Teaching from Monday (12)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Teacher Trade Unions have warned that they would step away from online teaching with effect from Monday (12).

Venerable Ulapane Sumangala Thero, the Chairman of the Education Professionals Association told reporters on Friday (09) that the decision was made as a mark of protest against the government's approach on protests staged in Colombo and other parts of the country this week.

The Venerable Thero said that Sri Lanka Police is violating the quarantine laws and detaining those who speak out against the government.
