Man shot dead in Kataragama; Shooter runs into hiding in Yala National Park

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 52-year-old person was shot dead in Kataragama on Tuesday (06) night, said, Sri Lanka Police.

Senior DIG Ajith Rohana, the Police Spokesperson, speaking to News 1st said the shooter was identified and operations are underway to arrest him.

'According to witness statements, the suspect had fled into the Yala National Park,' said the Police Spokesperson.

Investigations revealed that the shooter and victim were involved in a dispute.
