Discussions on relief for Tourism sector affected by COVID-19

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special discussion will be held on Tuesday (Jun. 29) to provide relief to those engaged in the tourism sector who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, and representatives of 53 trade unions involved in the tourism sector will join the discussion, Dhammika Wijesinghe, the Director-General of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority told News 1st. "Discussions will be held regarding the provision of financial and leasing benefits to more than 300,000 people engaged in the tourism sector who have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," Wijesinghe further noted.
