COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry has introduced a home care program for COVID patients.
According to this program, the patients will be under the observation of the regional Medical Officer and will be categorized so that they will be admitted to the hospital in a streamlined manner.
Necessary assistance can be obtained via the 1390 hotline, said the Ministry of Health adding the new Home Care Program will be linked to this hotline.
Accordingly, patients will be selected to undergo care at their homes based on risk factors, until they are ready to be moved to a hospital.
‘This program will allow us to give priority to COVID patients who are above the age of 60 and with various complications as well as patients who are likely to be at risk,’ said the health ministry.
