Another Chinese JV in the North draws concern from locals

COLOMBO (News 1st); Locals have voiced serious concern over a sea cucumber farm that is operating in the Puvarasan Island in the Killinochchi District.

Accordingly, this project too is a Joint Venture between Sri Lanka and China.

When News 1st inquired the National Aquaculture Development Authority of this matter over the weekend, the Authority said that steps have been taken to suspend the project following a site inspection.

However, Chinese nationals were seen at the premises on Sunday (28) continuing operations.
