Colombo Property at Risk of being sold to investors; Harsha challenges to prove its wrong

COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balavegaya MP Dr. Harsha De Silva has challenged those in authority to openly claim that the Foreign Ministry building in Colombo will not be sold off to investors.

He said the sale of buildings in prime locations in Colombo is not the answer to the issues in the country.

What is Selendiva?

Selendiva Investments Ltd is 100 percent owned by the Treasury.

A Special Purpose Vehicle had been created under this company for investments.

Cabinet approval has been granted for this exercise under which multiple properties in Colombo and its suburbs will be brought under the Special Purpose Vehicle entity that will fall under the company.

The properties classified as the Colombo Fort Heritage Square investment portfolio include;

Grand Oriental Hotel and York Building

Gafoor Building

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Postal Department Head Office.
