Technical assistance from Australia to assess marine accident damage

COLOMBO (News 1st); Australia has come forward to assist Sri Lanka to assess the environmental damage caused by two marine shipping accidents in the seas of Sri Lanka in the recent past.

Australia will provide technical assistance to the island nation based on a request made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa following a meeting with the Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Holly at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday (31).

Australia also pledged assistance for investments and education sector promotion in Sri Lanka.

High Commissioner Holly said that a plane carrying a consignment of medical equipment donated by the Australian Government for COVID treatment will arrive in Sri Lanka on June 3rd.
