240 selected prisoners released in view of Vesak

COLOMBO (News 1st); A total of 240 prisoners were released on Wednesday (26) in view of Vesak Poya Day.
Prisons Spokesperson and Commissioner, Chandana Ekanayake speaking to News 1st said selected prisoners from prisons across the island were thus released.
The released prisoners were those who were incarcerated for minor offenses.
