When restrictions are lifted, only visit nearest shop for purchases and return home immediately

COLOMBO (News 1st); When the travel restrictions are lifted at 04 AM on the 25h May, the General Public should only leave their homes to purchase goods from the nearest shop or store, stressed Army Commander General Shavendra Silva on Sunday (22).

"We do not expect the people to come onto the roads. The restrictions are lifted for the people who were not able to make purchases last week," he stressed.

The government had already declared the 25th of May a Government Holiday and the general public must remain indoor, highlighted the Army Commander.

The current travel restrictions will be lifted at 05 AM on the 25th of May and will be re-imposed at 11 PM the same day until the 28th of May.

The Army Commander said the travel restrictions will be reviewed on the 27th of May.
