3,500+ COVID cases on Friday (21); 800 COVID infections from Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Recorded a total of 3,547 COVID-19 cases on Friday (21), said the Department of Government Information.

3,538 of these cases were from the New Year Cluster while the remaining 09 were people who tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from overseas.

The National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on Saturday (22) said the Colombo District recorded the highest number of 800 COVID-19 cases on Friday (21).

The Gampaha District recorded 617 infections while Kurunegala and Galle recorded 297 cases and 278 cases respectively.
