New COVID-19 Treatment Procedure launched in Kalutara

COLOMBO (News 1st): A new procedure of treatment for COVID-19 patients will be launched in the Kalutara district as a pilot project on Friday (May 21), Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said. "Upon conducting the relevant medical tests, those who show symptoms and all COVID-19 patients aged above 60-years will be sent to hospitals. Those who are ASYMPTOMATIC and those who show mild symptoms will be sent to Intermediate Care Centres. Those who do NOT show any symptoms but test positive for the virus will be directed to undergo home quarantine," the Army Commander told News 1st on Friday (May 21). Army Commander General Shavendra Silva noted that this new treatment procedure implemented in Kalutara today (21), will be reviewed after 03-days. "Thereby depending on its success, the new treatment procedure will be adopted in other areas such as the Colombo and Gampaha district as well," General Silva said.
