Travel restriction from 11 PM on Thursday (13)

COLOMBO (News 1st): An island-wide travel restriction will be imposed with effect from 11:00 PM on Thursday (May 13) until 4:00 AM on Monday (May 17), Army Commander General Shavendra Silva confirmed to News 1st. People are permitted to travel within the Western Province ONLY to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) told News 1st on Wednesday (May 12). However, the travel restriction will NOT affect the operation of essential services, he further added.
