China's Sinopharm jab administered at 08 locations in Colombo

COLOMBO (News 1st): The special vaccination drive to administer China's Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine to the residents of the Western Province, will continue on Wednesday (May 12) with the support of the Tri-Forces. The vaccine is being administered at selected locations in the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts. --- IN THE COLOMBO CITY --- The vaccination drive to administer the Sinopharm jab will be conducted at EIGHT (08) locations in the Colombo Municipality with the assistance of Sri Lanka Army, Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni, the Chief Medical Officer of Health of the Colombo Municipal Council told News 1st. The 08 locations are: Community Centre at the Arnold Ratnayake Mawatha Campbell Park in Borella A.H.M. Fowzie Maternity Home P.D. Sirisena ground Roxy Garden community centre Vistvyke Park in Mattakkuliya Sithumina Community Centre down Mugalan Road in Kirulapona Keththarama Temple in Grandpass According to Dr. Wijayamuni, 8899 Sinopharm vaccines have already been administered, and NO complications were reported following inoculation. People can place appointments through the E-Channelling Service to obtain the vaccine, the Colombo Municipal Council announced. State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics, and COVID Disease Control, Dr. Sudharshani Fernandopulle on Tuesday (May 11) said plans are in place to administer the first jab of the Sinopharm vaccine to 30,000 people daily.
