COLOMBO (News 1st): More than 100 expectant mothers who contracted COVID-19 are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, the Family Health Bureau said on Saturday (May 08). Of the 130 expectant mothers who are receiving treatment for COVID-19 at present, two mothers are in critical condition, Dr. Chithramalee De Silva, the Director of Maternal and Child Health at the Family Health Bureau told News 1st. According to Dr. Chithramalee De Silva, the majority of infected expectant mothers are receiving treatment at the Neville Fernando Hospital and the Homagama Base Hospital. Expectant mothers are urged to remain indoors as much as possible, and strictly adhere to COVID-19 health regulations, Dr. Chithramalee De Silva stressed.
