Based on the evidence available at present there is zero possibility of these pregnant mothers having opted for an abortion within the first 28 weeks of the pregnancy, he said adding that there are very less complications with the delivered baby as well. However, he warned that if necessary precautions are not taken there situation may turn different after the first 28 weeks of the pregnancy. "The pregnant mother could go into a pneumonia situation if she contracts the virus and the situation gets worse. Therefore, seek immediate medical attention and constantly be in touch with medical officers," he advised pregnant mothers. Dr. Sanath Lanerolle appealed to pregnant mothers to ensure they wear a face mask at all times while maintaining social distance with others.
