COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have urged the general public to refrain from experimenting with online ayurvedic recipes which claim to be useful to combat COVID-19.

The State Ministry of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurveda Hospitals Development, and Community Health​ said it is paramount to have an understanding of the ingredients of an ayurvedic recipe and their use.

The State Ministry urged the general public to always consult the State Ministry, Department of Ayurveda, Provincial Departments of Ayurveda, and other related agencies.

It further went on to note that local medicines should only be used in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.
