COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Director General of Health Services on Saturday (01) said a decision was reached to prohibit events such as meetings, conference and reception at any hotel in the country.
Speaking to News 1st Dr. Asela Gunawardena said it was also decided to close all schools, universities & tuition classes until further notice, considering the spike in COVID-19 cases.
In addition, it is now prohibited to visit places of worship in groups while there is no restriction to visit a place of worship individually, he said.
The Director General of Heath Services urged the general public to limit Ramazan and Vesak celebrations to their homes.
