COLOMBO (News 1st): The prevailing showery conditions experienced over the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces is likely to enhance up to a certain extent during the next few days, the Department of Meteorology said on Saturday (May 01).

Heavy rainfalls exceeding 100 mm could be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara, and Polonnaruwa districts, the weather advisory read.

The Met Department requested the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
