All Schools will remain closed next week: Prof. G.L. Peiris

COLOMBO (News 1st): All schools in the island will remain closed until the 07th of May, given the prevailing COVID-19 situation, Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peiris said on Saturday (May 01). "Taking into account the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country, we decided that it not favourable to open schools during the next week from 03rd May to 07th May," the Education Minister told reporters. However, academic activities will continue during this period online, Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris further noted.
