Over 1,500 COVID-19 cases on Thursday (29); another record high in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka reported a record 1,531 COVID-19 cases on Thursday (29), making it the highest number of infections reported in a single day in the island nation.
1,491 of these cases were from the New Year Cluster while the remaining 40 are those who returned from overseas and tested positive for the coronavirus.
