13 Schools in Anuradhapura closed until Friday (30)

COLOMBO (News 1st): A decision has been reached to temporarily close 13 schools until Friday (Apr. 30) in the Anuradhapura district. This was confirmed to News 1st by Mahipala Herath, the Governor of the North-Central Province. "During the meeting of the Ministry Secretaries, the Provincial Director-General of Health Services presented information regarding 13 schools where COVID-19 had spread. According to the information, several students and parents had contracted the virus. Therefore, a decision was reached to close the 13 schools till 30th April," Governor Mahipala Herath told News 1st on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 27).
