COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lankan Cricket captain Dimuth Karunaratne registered a double century in the first Test against Bangladesh that is underway. Sri Lanka scored 512 for the loss of three wickets in the first innings, at the close of the fourth day's play today. The first Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is being played at the Pallekele Ground in Kandy. Sri Lanka opened the day's play, resuming from their overnight total of 229 for the loss of three wickets. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhananjaya de Silva remained unbeaten at the crease. Dhananjaya de Silva remained unbeaten on 154, registering his 7th Test century in the process. Dimuth Karunaratne played an unbeaten captain's knock of 234 as well. With the Bangladeshi bowlers failing to clinch a Sri Lankan wicket, the duo put on a solid partnership of 322 for the fourth wicket. Bangladesh had declared their first innings on 541 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Sri Lanka ended Day 4 of the match on 512 runs for the loss of three wickets, when bad light interrupted play.
