Australia has sealed a 3-0 series whitewash in the Frank Worrell Trophy after bowling out the West Indies for the second-lowest total in Test history in Kingston on Monday.

Chasing a 204-run target for victory at Sabina Park, the West Indies were rolled for 27 in 14.3 overs in astonishing scenes courtesy of a six-wicket haul to Mitchell Starc and a hat-trick for Scott Boland.

Playing his 100th Test, Starc decimated the West Indies top order with the pink Dukes balls, passing the 400-wicket milestone and sealing his 16th five-wicket haul in the game’s longest format.

The left-armed quick, later named player of the match, claimed three scalps in the opening over of the innings before sealing a five-wicket haul in just 15 deliveries, an all-time record in Tests.

Later in the innings, Boland became the tenth Australian to take a hat-trick in men’s Tests after ripping through the West Indies lower order following the tea break, dismissing Justin Greaves, Shamar Joseph and Jomel Warrican in consecutive deliveries.

Starc finished with a career-best 6-9 from 7.3 overs, the best bowling figures by an Australian in the West Indies since 1955, while Boland claimed 3-2 from two overs.

Seven West Indies players were dismissed for a duck, an unwanted Test record for the Caribbean team, as Australia secured an emphatic 176-run victory.
