Showers exceeding 50 mm likely in WP & other areas

COLOMBO (News 1st): Showers or thundershowers are likely at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and North-Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2:00 pm on Tuesday (Apr. 20), the Department of Meteorology said. Fairly heavy falls exceeding 50 mm could also be expected at some places in the aforementioned areas, the weather advisory further read. The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
