Colombo (News 1st);  Sri Lanka Police will launch a special island-wide operation, especially along expressway from 12 noon on Sunday (18) to 06 AM on Monday (19) to arrest those driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said over the past five days 1834 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
