(VIDEO) Daring rescue in Bandarawela; two people swept away by strong currents

Colombo (News 1st); A father and son are reported missing after they were swept away by strong currents in Kalupahana, Haldummulla on Thursday (15).

According to reports, a family of 04 from Maharagama had visited Badulla for the holidays and decided to go for a swim in Kalupahana, Haldummulla. The father, son, and daughter had gone for a swim while the mother had gone to a nearby store, however, unfortunately, the trio in the water was swept away by strong currents. Locals quickly rushed to the scene, and only managed to rescue the girl who was stuck on a rock. A search and rescue operation took place to locate the missing father and son.
