Father of 2 killed in a wild elephant attack

COLOMBO (News 1st): A wild elephant attack on the Pussallanvinna village in Dehiaththakandiya claimed the life of one person. The deceased V.G. Prassanna was a 30-year-old father of 2 while the deceased's body was discovered by the villagers this morning. Prassana was on the way back home after visiting a relative residing about a kilometre from his home. Villagers voiced their strong protest when Wild Life officers visited the location and pointed out that many more lives will be lost if steps are not taken to address the human-elephant conflict.
