Education Ministry announces the Examination Dates

Colombo (News 1st); The examination dates were announced on Friday (09) by the Minister of Education.

Accordingly, the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination will take place from the 04th to 30th October 2021. The Grade 05 Scholarship examination will take place on 03rd October 2021. The Ministry of Education said the G. C. E. Ordinary Level Examination will commence from the final week of January 2022. Education Minister Professor G. L. Peiris told reporters on Friday (09) that due to COVID-19 schools were not able to complete the syllabus. "Usually schools operate for 200 days per year, however due to COVID-19 that number reduced to around 150 days. In the Western Province, that figure dropped to 130 days," said the Minister.
