Heavy traffic in Town Hall, Colombo due to a protest

Colombo (News 1st); Heavy traffic was reported in Town Hall, Colombo due to a protest by the Joint Health Workers Union on Wednesday (07).

Health workers attached to the Joint Health Workers Union across the island reported sick on Wednesday (07) and a group commenced a protest opposite the National Hospital in Colombo. The Joint Health Workers Union is staging the protest citing 10 demands including an allowance of Rs.15,000/- for uniforms as well as a special risk allowance for all health workers.
