Colombo (News 1st); TID investigations on two people who were arrested after they were deported from the United Arab Emirates, revealed they were involved in propagating extremism.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said the two suspects had conducted multiple lectures for Sri Lankan families living in the UAE on extremism.

“The duo were deported by the UAE for multiple offenses. One suspect is a 44-year-old from Hingula and was arrested on 30th March 2021. The other suspect is a 47-year-old from Matale and he was arrested on the 25th of March 20121,” he added.
