Court issues notice on Ranil Wickremesinghe & UNP General Sec.

Colombo (News 1st); The Colombo Chief District Court Judge Karuna Aluthge on Monday (29) issued an order on United National Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara and three others, preventing them from expelling K. G. Dhammika Chandraratne from the UNP and taking away his post as a member of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Municipal Council.

The order will be in effect until the 12th of April 2021 and the court ordered for notice to be served on Ranil Wickremesinghe and the other respondents to be present in court on that day to present facts. The local government member had requested the court to issue an order to invalidate the letter issued to expel him accusing him of seating with the ruling faction during a meeting.
