278 COVID infections & 01 fatality on Saturday (27)

Colombo (News 1st);  A total of 278 COVID-19 cases were reported in Sri Lanka on Saturday (27), said the Department of Government Information.

260 of these cases were from the Peliyagoda Cluster while the remaining 18 were those who returned from overseas. The Director General of Health Services confirmed a death caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Saturday (27). Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 559 and the details of the victim is as follows; The deceased is an 82 year old male resident from Colombo 06. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments at National Hospital Colombo and transferred to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where he died on 25.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia and ischemic heart disease.
