Colombo (News 1st); 'Nandasena is afraid of the truth', said JVP politician Samantha Vidyaratne on Monday (22) during a protest organized by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna in Colombo.

He said when environmentalists and the maha sangha point out environmental destruction, the President says no such destruction had taken place. 'We would like to invite Nandasena to the places we identified, and we would show him the destruction that had taken place," said Samantha Vidyaratne. Highlighting the fact that the Sinharaja Rainforest is a World Heritage Site, Vidyaratne said Nadasena disregarded the laws and regulations and aimed at the rainforest as well. "Ever since Bhagya spoke out, Saubhagya (Prosperity) chased after her," he said referring to the National Policy Framework Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour, of the President.
