Court issues order preventing Wimal from making comments against Rishad

Colombo (News 1st); Colombo District Court Judge Aruna Aluthge issued an order on Minister Wimal Weerawansa preventing him from making false and malicious statements causing defamation to MP Rishad Bathiudeen.

Further, 03 private television channels were also issued an order preventing them from promoting the defamatory statements made by Wimal Weerawansa. All respondents were ordered to appear in court on the 31st of March. Rishad Bathiudeen filed an application with the court noting that the comments made by Wimal Weerawansa on the 09th of March had caused harm to his reputation.
