COLOMBO (News 1st): The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has launched a special investigation into the Sugar Scam that has caused a massive loss of over Rs. 15 billion to the state in tax revenues.
A special team of officers was assigned to conduct investigations, the Commission told News 1st on Tuesday (Mar. 16).
Meanwhile, the Auditor-General’s Department has also launched a special audit into the Sugar Scam.
A team of officials from the Department is working towards this end, Auditor-General W. P. C. Wickramaratne told News 1st on Monday (Mar. 15).
