Special Audit launched into Sugar Scam: Auditor-General's Department

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special Audit was launched into the sugar scam that has caused a massive loss of over Rs. 15 billion to the state in tax revenue, the Auditor-General's Department said. A team of officials from the Department is working towards this end, Auditor-General W. P. C. Wickramaratne told News 1st on Monday (Mar. 15). The respective institutions in connection with the matter were inquired with regard to the relevant information and files, he further noted.
