Gazette on Rs. 1000 daily wage for Estate Workers published

COLOMBO (News 1st): The gazette notification with regard to increasing the daily wage of Estate Workers to Rs. 1000 has been published, by the Secretary to the Ministry of Labour, the Department of Labour said on Wednesday (Mar. 10). The daily wage of plantation workers will be increased with effect from March 5th 2021, Prabhath Chandrakeerthi, the Commissioner-General of Labour said. "All estate owners must ensure that the Rs. 1000 increase is provided to estate workers since 5th March 2021," Commissioner-General of Labour emphasized.
