CEA Act not amended in over 20-years: COPE

COLOMBO (News 1st): It was revealed at the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on Tuesday (Mar. 09) that the amendment of the Central Environmental Authority Act has been delayed for more than 20 years. The revelation came when the COPE inquired into the special Audit Report on the import, use, and after use of plastic. The first report of the 9th Session of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) is due to be tabled in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar. 10). It includes six special reports of the Auditor-General examined by the COPE.
