All set for the 2020 G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination

COLOMBO (News1st): All arrangements for the 2020 G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination have been made, The Department of Examinations said.

The examination will be held in 4,513 examination centres starting tomorrow, the 01st of March till the 10th of March.

A total of 622,352 candidates including 423,746 school students and 198,606 private candidates will sit for the examination, the Commissioner-General of examinations, Sanath B. Poojitha said.

Two special examination centres have also been allocated in each district due to the risk of COVID-19, the Commissioner-General of Examinations further said.

The initial arrangements have been made by the health authorities to allow 24 candidates who have contracted the COVID-19 virus to sit for the 2020 G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination, the Commissioner-General of Examinations noted.

Special transportation facilities for the candidates sitting for the examination have also been arranged by the Ministry of Transportation, the Commissioner-General of examinations, Sanath B. Poojitha further added.
