SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF ICE

Colombo (News 1st); The Special Task Force of the Konagala Camp led by SSP Silvester arrested a suspect for the possession of Rs.170,000 and 750 grams of ICE in Ragama on Friday (26), Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said. The team has also arrested another female suspect in Dehiwala for the possession of 1kg of heroin, DIG Ajith Rohana further said. Both suspects have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation and will be produced to the respective magistrates' court on Saturday (27). Thereafter, the Police Narcotics Bureau will seek to obtain a detention order for a period of 7 days in terms of the provision of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, DIG Ajith Rohana added.
