COLOMBO (News1st): Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in Gampaha have decided to withdraw from the government COVID-19 vaccination drive, citing a lack of preparedness over the matter. "...the vaccination plan was altered due to the ad-hoc decisions made by health authorities," Saminda Samaradiwakara, the Chairman of the Gampaha Public Health Inspectors Association said. He pointed out that PHI's in Gampaha had decided to withdraw from the process as the vaccination plan had "failed". The Ministry of Health has decided to inoculate those above the age of 30 living in areas that are at a high risk of COVID-19 in Colombo and Gampaha Districts. The relevant officials have been instructed to identify the areas at risk of the virus, a statement issued by the Department of Government Information noted.
